Holiday Recipes at Vapiano : Christmas in Italy

Holiday Recipes at Vapiano

The month of December invites us to dive into holiday recipes. For lovers of gourmet discoveries, I tested the new menu of holiday recipes at Vapiano for the holidays from this Italian restaurant chain. I take you to discover it !

Vapiano, the concept

Vapiano is a restaurant chain that started in 2002 and describes itself as “Fast Casual“, a hybrid of “fast” restaurants where most of the food is prepared in front of you.

The spaces are open, both to the food preparation area (self-service version in a way) and to the rooms for customers. These are organized on different levels with different atmospheres and functions to satisfy young and less young !

The decoration of Vapiano restaurants invites you to la dolce vita with very natural touches : wooden furniture, green walls, dim lights, etc.

In Île-de-France, you have three restaurants in Paris (Champs Elysées, Batignolles and Bercy) and one restaurant in Hauts-de-Seine at La Défense.

Pizza Pecora 4 Formaggi : Pizza with mazzarella, sheep, gorgonzola, goat cheese, cream, arugula, hazelnuts

Dessert

Darling amarena log : Spoon biscuit logs, amarena cherry, ream, sugar, vanilla bean, chocolate shavings

With my sidekick, we chose the following dishes :

  • For the starters : the soup and the burrata. The soup is very smooth and thick – which gives it a very comforting touch. Personally, I don’t like chestnuts and there I found the soup delicious. As for the salad with the burrata, the cheese is good, the salad brings freshness and an interesting contrast between arugula and fig. However, the vinaigrette served with it didn’t particularly appeal to me. I will advise you not to ask without sauce and simply add a drizzle of olive oil !
  • For the main courses : pasta with truffles and risotto with truffles. First note, the plates are plentiful – if you take an appetizer, you might have a hard time finishing your dish. The truffle sauce for the dishes is really nice and brings a very festive touch to the tasting. The risotto is very creamy. On the other hand, I found that the pasta deserved a little more sauce.
  • For dessert : the log is a simple dessert that will appeal to as many people as possible. Personally, I couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary in her – which is a bit of a shame for a holiday season. I who adore pastry making, will invite the teams to rework it with more greed and generosity.

Feast and do a good deed

Like every year, Vapiano supports the Perce-Neige charity and donates 0.50 cents for any purchase of a festive edition dish. I find the initiative really cool – indirectly the client can support a charity.
