When I saw their first appearances on english social medias, I was super excited about the Expert Facial Masks ! For over a year, The Body Shop is dedicating a considerable energy to innovate and dust off its skincare ranges and I’m always very curious about their new products.
THE BODY SHOP – Expert Facial Masks
Again, with this range, The Body Shop wants to create a more respectful skincare while selecting the finest raw materials. These masks are formulated with natural ingredients: two are 100% vegetarian and three, 100% vegan.
In terms of packaging, we find the new design that the brand has developed since the launch of the Spa Of The World range last summer: simple, sleek and stylish.
Five masks launched with five key ingredients on the basis of super foods which we talked about more and more (acai, ginseng etc.), five specific actions and especially the desire to allow everybody to target what their skin needs.
In this range you will find:
- Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask (100% vegan),
- British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask (100% vegan),
- Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask (100% vegan),
- Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask (100% vegetarian),
- Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask (100% vegetarian).
The Expert Facial Masks will be available from August 23d in stores or on the e-shop for a price of $28 the jar (75ml).
Expert Facial Masks – How to use them ?
Depending on the mask you choose, the uses may be different.
Three out of the five masks have exfoliating particles in their formulas: Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask the Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask and the Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask.
On a clean skin, apply one of these masks, leave for about 15 minutes, then with a little warm water, make circular motions for a deep exfoliating action before rinsing off the product.
The other two masks: British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask and the Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask have more a hydratation and soothing actions on the skin. You can apply on clean skin for about 15 minutes. To test if to let the mask overnight brings a deeper action (I will try and come back to tell you!).
This range also allows to get into the multimasking trend for those who would never have had the opportunity to test. I refer you to a post I wrote last year. Combine, for example, three masks and leave on for about 10 minutes.
Expert Facial Masks – My thoughts?
I have not yet tried the five masks but my first impressions are extremely positive.
The first thing that I like is the approach of the brand between being earth friendly and quality ingredients. A combination, which for me is in the zeitgeist and is also the sign of the brand intelligence while allowing the customers to be more aware about these themes.
The products have affordable prices – thereby making skincare accessible to a large amount of people. In addition, these products are labelled with a gender so they can be used by both women and men.
What I loved in these masks is their ultra sensorial touch. Fragrances are very relaxing and not too heady. In addition, they are from the natural ingredients which made the formulas.
The textures are unique and allow to discover a self-centered feel good sensation.
Moreover, once applied, some masks bring new sensations as freshness for the charcoal one, cocooning for the honey mask, a good boost of energy for the Acai mask…In short, a sensorial experience is the key to each mask.
I look forward to pursue my test and if you want to see detailed reviews on the blog, let me know in the comment section!
