A weekend in Geneva and Haute-Savoie, at the beginning of November, with friends was the perfect getaway to relax away from the capital and enjoy the beauty of autumn in a landscape where Nature has all the rights.
From Paris, I went by plane to Geneva. The flight is really fast and it’s a real pleasure to be able to escape the capital so quickly!
Weekend in Geneva
Geneva is known for its lake and its famous jet of water. The jet was in maintenance when I was there. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this beautiful lake with clear water – a real treat.
We also had a walk downtown and we took the opportunity to find inspiration in front of the first windows full of Christmas ornamens! We also drooled in front of the chocolate shop windows … In short, fun!
Weekend in Haute-Savoie
Being in the mountains, in the countryside made me feel so good. Being surrounded by trees and greenery, animals and calm was exactly what I needed! I really could “do nothing”, relax – what happiness!
I did not know this region at all and I really enjoyed the grandiose side of the mountain. The friends with whom I was staying had prepared a little program for me to explore the area. I discovered the small village of Faucigny with a beautiful panorama of the valley and the mountain. We also went to Cluses for an afternoon. Next, I finally marveled at the Annecy Lake! A sublime view, an incredible alpine lake and a lovely old town.
I’m keeping a very good memory of these few days away from everything that brings us even closer to ourselves. This is the moment when we refocus, find ourselves and where, especially, we slow down! I can not wait to return to visit my friends to enjoy all this!
